We are looking for a superstar to join our team here at Pompallier Mission in Russell, in the beautiful Bay of Islands.

Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is the country’s lead guardian of historic sites. Amongst them is the iconic Pompallier Mission, a printery and tannery set amongst beautiful gardens, overlooking the beach! We pride ourselves on offering an exceptional experience through acclaimed storytelling and korero.

Pompallier has recently received a Trip Adviser Hall of Fame award, and we now seek visitor hosts capable of furthering this reputation by telling the stories of the site as an interactive and enthusiastic guide.

To be successful you will:

– have strong people skills
– be an excellent communicator
– a team player
– adaptable to visitor demands
– at ease with POS operating systems

Importantly, you will need to be physically active, as some lifting and standing for periods is required.

Contracts run from November to April and hours are variable, with regular weekend work required.

Heritage knowledge and tourism, hosting or retail experience is desirable, but nothing beats a positive attitude and energy!
