The monsoon bar & restaurant is the very popular on site bar of the Rainforest Retreat in beautiful Franz Josef Glacier. We are the busiest bar on the west coast and we are heading into our biggest ever summer. It’s going to be fun and full on.

Our clientele is everyone from backpackers on party busses, retirees on a once in a life-time trip, girls on hens, boys on tour, indians on honeymoons, to glacier guides looking for a cold beer at the end of the day. the world comes to us and it’s awesome to be part of.

Job tasks and responsibilities

You will be responsible for all aspects of working in a busy and fun bar in one of NZ’s best tourism hot spots.

Anyone can pour a drink, we are looking for people who can do it with pride. Cocktail knowledge is an advantage but if limited we are happy to teach you.

Skills and experience

If you have great customer service a very positive attitude, can work un-supervised and use initiative to create an atmosphere that people will want to stay and enjoy then we want to hear from you.

We are looking for someone to take us through the summer and stick around for the season.

A NZ duty managers cert is preferred but if you don’t have one can help obtain one for the right person.

You’ll be working evenings and nights leaving your days free to enjoy the magical glacier region.
