Looking for something adventurous? Try Adrenalin Forest, mini-golf or go-karting. Grab a few of your newfound backpacker mates and enjoy some good, simple fun!
On the other hand, finding places for a bit of solitude is never too hard on top of the Colonial Knob Reserve!

1. Hike to the Summit at Colonial Knob (1-2 Hours One Way)
The Colonial Knob Walkway offers a rewarding hiking experience with breathtaking panoramic views.
As we discovered first-hand, this moderately challenging track winds through regenerating native bush and farmland, leading to sweeping vistas of Porirua Harbour, Kapiti Island, and on clear days, even the South Island.
Choose from several routes ranging from 4 km to 11 km, catering to different fitness levels and time constraints.
We’re big fans of the Summit Track, which takes 1-2 hours one way and rewards hikers with stunning views over the city and Cook Strait.

For an exhilarating adventure in Porirua’s forest canopy, look no further than Adrenalin Forest. This multi-level aerial obstacle course offers over 100 challenges, including swinging bridges, tightropes, and ziplines reaching up to 30 metres high.
